Filtration System
- Pawira uses a triple filtration system combined with built-in UV sterilization to keep your cat's water clean, fresh, and safe around the clock.
- Each filter set combines a pre-filter sponge, activated carbon, and ion-exchange resin to target common tap water contaminants:
Removes up to 99.9% of chlorine that affects taste and can irritate sensitive digestive systems
Filters 95–98% of heavy metals like lead and copper that accumulate in small organs over time
Reduces 90–95% of pharmaceutical residues commonly found in municipal water
Traps hair, debris, and sediment before they reach your cat
UV sterilization is built into the pump housing and runs continuously, killing 99.9% of bacteria and viruses in the water — no chemicals needed. Completely safe for pets and household use.
Water is filtered continuously as it circulates, so it stays clean throughout the day — not just after a refill.
For best results, replace filters every two weeks. Each box includes 8 filter sets to get you started.

Clean on the Surface Isn't Enough.
Most fountains circulate the same bacteria-filled water all day long. Pawira's UV sterilization technology destroys harmful bacteria and microorganisms at the source — continuously, automatically, and completely invisibly. Because what your cat can't see can still hurt them.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know the UV sterilization actually works?
The UV light built into the Pawira fountain operates at a wavelength proven to destroy bacteria and pathogens in water. It's the same technology used in hospitals and water purification plants — not a marketing gimmick. You'll see the UV light glowing inside the fountain when it's running.
What happens if my cat doesn't like it?
If your cat doesn't like it or avoids it, we recommend waiting 3-4 days so your cat can get used to it. If he is still avoiding it, we recommend using catnip on the spout to help your cat get acquainted with it. Contact us at info@pawira.com and we will make sure to assist you!
How hard is it to clean? How often?
Easier than a bowl, honestly. Because the UV sterilization and antibacterial stainless steel surface actively resist biofilm buildup, you're not scrubbing slimy residue every few days like with plastic fountains. A quick rinse weekly and a proper clean once every 2 weeks is all it takes. The parts disassemble in seconds and are dishwasher safe — no tools, no fuss.
